RECENT ENGAGEMENTS
I establish relationships and guide interactions between clients and key decision makers in government agencies, community groups, and civic institutions. I implement creative solutions to complex problems and assist in marketing, project development, and project implementation. I build strategic partnerships with public and private entities; advise on matters of municipal finance, nonprofit governance, and development strategies; author business plans and policy briefs; and develop practical solutions for commercial, nonprofit, and public-sector clients.
Some of my recent engagements include:
- Non-Profit Leadership -- collaborated with staff, board members, and other stakeholders to develop a sustainable budgetary framework and develop the concept of a higher education school for circus arts into a thriving reality.
- Start-up Entrepreneurship -- worked with partners to create and execute a business plan to market BBQ tools with a patented bat-handle design that replicates the dimensions and feel of a well-made hardwood bat.
- Policy Management -- articulated a platform of governmental reforms, based on the input of governmental, civic, and private-sector experts, for a high-profile mayoral campaign
- Government innovation -- partnered with coders and open-data pioneers to create the Bulldog Budget, an innovative, open-source and internationally replicated tool to visualize and search for city expenditures with complete transparency.
- Executive Leadership -- initiated operations for a Congressionally recognized nonprofit to help public school districts use bond-financing tools for construction and renovation.
- Project Development -- conceived projects and offered assistance in engagements as a senior advisor for an economic consulting firm.
- Teaching -- Instructing students in municipal budgeting as a University of Pennsylvania Adjunct Professor.
- Writing -- updated Is This Heaven? The Magic Of The Field of Dreams, (Rowman & Littlefield Publishing) and authored the soon-to-be-published Philadelphia: Corrupt and Contented.
